Check out this beast!
« on: November 01, 2009, 08:51:54 PM »
I was doing a carpet cleaning job at a local Boys and Girls Club and came across this beast hanging in a back conference room.

As you can tell, it's a very old mount but this buck is HUGE. He's got to be pushing 40" kicker to kicker...and the inside spread is just as impressive.

I wish I had some extra cash lying around because I would love to offer to have him remounted with a fresh cape and a better form. Maybe I can come up with something for them/him....a buck like that deserves to be displayed in all his spleandor IMO.

I know the Director very well and will see if I can get a tape on him later this week, work permitting. I'll keep you posted. I'll also see if I can get some more information in this magnificant buck. But, in the meantime, I thought you folks would enjoy seeing a beast from the past!

Man Charlie, I wish I had the money to get that done! He sure would look great "freshened up" with a new cape and form. Unfortunately I don't have the extra funds at the moment. Even though he'd go right back to the Boys and Girls Club, I would still love to have it done.

Maybe after the holiday season is over....we'll see.

Hey Charlie, what would that cost (roughly) I would be willing to kick in some cash for a good cause. I don't have a ton to spare, but I can help out a little. Depending on locations of deer and your shop, I might be able to get an in on transport.

WOW! I certainly did not expect this kind of response but thanks a million! Between the posts and PMs I am pleasantly surprised to say the least. I was just posting the pics for folks to enjoy and was toying with the idea of helpin' the club out myself. You guys are awesome!

Well, I have not spoken to anyone at the club about getting the buck remounted so that will be the first hurdle I cross. Again, I know the folks there very well since my company takes care of the Valley B & G Clubs. I will speak to them this week when I get a chance and see if they are open to it.

Again, thanks a bunch guys...those of you that posted and those that PMed. I will keep you all up to date and see what I can come up with.

I'll also see if I can get him scored. If I can I will get the score posted up also.
